Hey MoveOn: Will You Support DREAM Act too?

MoveOn has come out in support of repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell; but what about DREAM Act?

MoveOn.org was the first organization that inspired me to be an activist.  When they asked me for donations, volunteer support, or host an event for them in my town, I stepped up and answered their call.  Now I’m asking something in return from them.  I’m asking for MoveOn to mobilize their membership in support of the DREAM Act, an extremely important piece of legislation for many progressives like me.

MoveOn.org sent out this e-mail earlier today (here’s a sample of the text that was on their e-mail blast):

Dear MoveOn member,

Harry Reid is done with the Republicans whining about having to work over the holidays while simultaneously obstructing votes on critical legislation.

So last night Senator Reid announced he’ll hold a critical vote tomorrow to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” the shameful law that bars openly gay or bisexual people from serving in the U.S. military.

And the latest word is that, after years of organizing by equality advocates and progressives, the Senate finally appears to have enough votes to pass a repeal! The only thing standing in the way of ending this destructive, bigoted law are Republican attempts to continue to delay a vote.

A majority of the Senate is ready to repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. But they need to know we’re on their side in staring anti-equality Republicans down.

If MoveOn can get involved in the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, then it can get involved in pushing for passage of the DREAM Act.

You can help bring attention to MoveOn about this by tweeting the following:
